Dunedin

Dunedin City is located in the South Island on Otago's coastline between Oamaru and Balclutha. This is New Zealand's oldest city with a very Scottish heritage and is the home of the worlds steepest street.  Dunedin has a population of about 120,000. Approx one quarter of the population are students at the local varsity.
Spend a few days here as there is so much to see. Just a day wandering around the city centre and you will see some fine examples of Dunedin's fine architecture. The Railway Station is a definite must  with its Edwardian flavour. The Taieri Gorge Railway leaves from here for some fantastic glimpses of Otago.
Otago Peninsula offers a panoramic splendour along with some fantastic opportunities to see up close some natural beauty.
 Elm Wildlife Tours take tours on the Otago Peninsula to see the Albatross colony, Sea Lions, Penguins  and some fantastic scenery. They also cater for tours to other Southern Coast destinations.
If you have a car, the Otago Peninsula is an excellent way to fill in a day.
